India vs South Africa T20I series is scheduled to start from December 9.

India pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah, who was rested from the ongoing ODI series against South Africa to manage his workload, will be a part of the Suryakumar Yadav-led side in the upcoming T20I series against South Africa. 

Bumrah to feature against South Africa

After finishing the ODI series, Team India are scheduled to play a five-match T20I series against South Africa, which is scheduled to start from December 9. Bumrah, who featured in the two-Test match series against the Proteas, will play a limited role in the T20Is, bowling only four overs per match.

Shubman Gill is likely to be selected in T20I squad vs South Africa

Apart from Bumrah, India Test and ODI captain Shubman Gill will also likely to be selected in T20Is against South Africa. The stylish batter is currently on the road to recovery from a neck injury that he got during the first Test match against the Temba Bavuma-led side at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

Will Hardik feature in T20Is vs South Africa?

Hardik Pandya, who got injured during the Asia Cup 2025, has received clearance to return to the T20 format and will be playing his first match in nearly two-and-a-half months against Punjab in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy in Hyderabad on Tuesday.

He is also supposed to play the December 4 game between Baroda and Gujarat with national selector Pragyan Ojha in attendance during both games to check his overall fitness before the squad is announced.

India vs South Africa T20I schedule

The T20I series will start in Cuttack, followed by matches in New Chandigarh (December 11), Dharamsala (December 14), Lucknow (December 17), and Ahmedabad (December 19).
