According to reports from ESPNcricinfo, Markram was secured by the franchise for a substantial fee of £200,000. This move further strengthens his ties with the Super Giants global network, as he already represents the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the IPL and the Durban Super Giants in the SA20.

The franchise's head coach, Justin Langer, emphasized that Markram was his "number one priority" heading into the selection process.
