The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the Indian women's squad for the upcoming T20I series against Bangladesh. The 16-member squad will led by captain Harmanpreet Kaur while Smriti Mandhana will continue to be the vice-captain of the Indian women's team. Meanwhile, after impressing in season two of the Women's Premier League (WPL), Royal Challengers Bengaluru's Asha Sobhana and Mumbai Indians' Sajana Sajeevan earned maiden call-ups to the national side.

Series to begin on April 28
The upcoming T20I series between India Women and Bangladesh Women is set to kick off on April 28 in Sylhet, Bangladesh. All five matches of the series will take place in Sylhet, with three of them scheduled as Day/Night encounters. Specifically, the first, second, and fifth T20Is will be played under lights. The Indian women's tour of Bangladesh will draw to a close on May 9.
This series holds significant importance as it serves as vital preparation for the 2024 T20 World Cup, slated to be hosted by Bangladesh later this year.
The Indian women's team last toured Bangladesh for a white-ball series in 2023. In the three-match T20I series, India emerged victorious with a 2-1 win. India secured victories in the opening two matches, while Bangladesh managed to salvage a win in the third T20I.
