Legendary Afghanistan all-rounder Mohammad Nabi has etched his name into the record books. The 40-year-old former Afghanistan captain became only the second cricketer in the world, after Bangladesh's Shakib Al Hasan to notch up a milestone of amassing 1,000 runs and snaring 100 wickets in T20 Internationals.

Nabi reached this milestone in his 135th T20I match for Afghanistan against Pakistan in Sharjah, which his team ended up winning by 18 runs. He is also the second player from Afghanistan to claim at east 100 wickets in the T20 format, having already amassed 2,246 runs in 126 innings.

Nabi reached his 100th T20I wicket during the fourth match of the ongoing tri-series in the United Arab Emirates. He had an excellent outing, bowling four overs and taking two wickets for just 20 runs. His historic 100th scalp came in the eighth over when he dismissed Fakhar Zaman for 25 runs. Later in the match, he also took the wicket of Mohammad Haris. Nabi's impressive performance, along with two wickets each from Rashid Khan, Noor Ahmad, and Fazalhaq Farooqi, helped Afghanistan defend a total of 169 runs, securing an 18-run victory.
Afghanistan will play UAE again on September 5. Right after the conclusion of the ongoing tri-series, Afghanistan will shift their focus on the upcoming Asia Cup 2025, which is set to start from September 9.
