South Africa completely dominated the second day of the second Test against Bangladesh in Chattogram, with three centuries from Wiaan Mulder, Tony de Zorzi, and Tristan Stubbs propelling them to a massive 575/6 declared.

The South African bowlers then quickly dismantled Bangladesh's top order, reducing them to 38/4 at Day 2 stumps. Kagiso Rabada, the world's number one Test bowler, struck early, dismissing Shadman Islam and Zakir Hasan cheaply.

Despite the batting-friendly pitch at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Bangladesh's batting woes continued to haunt them. Even a five-run penalty awarded to South Africa for pitch damage couldn't inspire a turnaround for the hosts.

Dane Paterson continued the South African dominance, dismissing Mahmudul Hasan Joy in the sixth over. Keshav Maharaj then clean bowled night watchman Hasan Mahmud, leaving Bangladesh reeling at 38/4.

After de Zorzi and Stubbs' heroics on the first day, the second day belonged to Wiaan Mulder. He formed a crucial partnership with Senuran Muthusamy, adding 152 runs for the seventh wicket, breaking South Africa's previous record for this wicket against Bangladesh.

After a brief period of momentum for Bangladesh, where Taijul Islam claimed three quick wickets, including the dismissals of David Bedingham, Tony de Zorzi, and Kyle Verreynne, the partnership between Wiaan Mulder and Senuran Muthusamy took control of the game. Mulder, in particular, played aggressively, striking the ball powerfully between wide long-off and mid-on. Muthusamy supported his partner well, ensuring that Mulder faced the majority of the deliveries.

Muthusamy's impressive knock included two sixes over long-on and several boundaries through mid-off, fine leg, and backward point. His elegant boundary through the slips marked his maiden Test half-century. Taijul Islam, despite claiming his 14th five-wicket haul, conceded a significant 198 runs, making it his most expensive five-for. Nahid Rana picked up one wicket, while Hasan Mahmud and Mehidy Hasan Miraz failed to make a significant impact.
