Bangladesh captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz did not want to leave the ground when his team was on the cusp of a historic series win against Australia. In the run chase, Miraz was hit on the helmet by a bouncer from Nathan Ellis. The skipper vomited on the ground and the stretcher was brought out. In addition to the Bangladesh physio, Australian team doctor also rushed to the middle. After some time, he continued to bat on and finished the run chase with a six off Riley Meredith in the next over. After the win, he was taken to the hospital. Later, Bangladesh physio Bayjedul Islam Khan revealed that he will stay at the hospital for 24 hours.

"Mehidy Hasan Miraz had a concussion during the match today," Bayjedul Islam Khan said after the game. "He continued to play after being assessed in the middle. We have sent him to the hospital to assess the rest of his signs, and for general observation. He will be there for the next 24 hours."
As per a report from ESPNCricinfo, the all-rounder is out of danger but will continue to be monitored on June 12.

Taskin lauds Miraz’s efforts
In the post-match presentation, Najmul Hossain Shanto turned up instead of Miraz. Veteran pacer Taskin Ahmed, who took three wickets, praised the captain's call to bat despite concussion as he did not want to risk triggering a batting collapse.
"It was incredible of Miraz to bat in that condition. I think he took a quick decision that if he walks off, the new batter could be prone to making a mistake in that pressure situation,” Taskin said.
Mehidy remained unbeaten for a run-a-ball 22 in the successful run chase as Bangladesh chased down a revised DLS target of 188 in 35 overs. Earlier, he bowled six overs as well.
Miraz doubtful for final ODI
Bangladesh have taken an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-ODI series. The third and final ODI of the series is scheduled to take place on June 14. He is set to be out of action for a week as per concussion protocols. In his absence, Shanto may lead Bangladesh against an out-of-form Josh Inglis-led Australia. However, he is eligible to play in the T20I series opener on June 17.
