Bangladesh T20I captain Litton Das under BCB scanner for alleged code of conduct breach

In a series of shocking events, Bangladesh T20I captain Litton Das has found himself in troubling waters after being summoned by the Bangladesh cricket Board's (BCB) disciplinary committee over an alleged breach of regulations governing centrally contracted players. The board has questioned Litton to come before the committee to justify his actions after the reported violation.

The development has sparked widespread controversy, particularly as Litton is dealing with an injury. Despite leading Bangladesh in T20Is, the wicketkeeper-batter is highly unlikely to receive any special treatment in the disciplinary proceedings. Meanwhile, Bangladesh's proposed tour of India later this year is nearing final approval, while the scheduled T20I series against Afghanistan is set to be rescheduled.

Big trouble for Litton Das

As per reports, Das was supposed to travel to Singapore on July 20 for a special assessment of his calf injury. The injury forced him to miss the recent T20I assignment against Zimbabwe and also forced him to withdraw from the ongoing Lanka Premier League (LPL) 2026.

What happened to Litton Das?

The star batter endured a calf injury during the ODI series against Australia, which took place at home. Later, he was forced to miss the Test series. However, he joined the Bangladesh team again for the ODI series against Zimbabwe, but failed to achieve full fitness levels

Amid all of this, some reports claimed that he travelled to China after Bangladesh's tour of Zimbabwe without informing anyone in the BCB, which is a violation of the board's protocol for centrally contracted players.

"He (Litton) went to China, which the board didn't take well. The board called him and asked him why and with whose permission," A BCB source told Cricbuzz.

As an outcome, Litton das was summoned for the hearing process on Sunday, for explaining his stance on the serious situation.

Reportedly, Litton revealed his side of the story and the board is in loop with its medical committee to check if the statement is true or not before taking any final decision on the situation.
