Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the squad for upcoming Commonwealth Games 2022 in Birmgingham. Harmanpreet Kaur will lead the India side as it will be played in T20I format for the first time at the mega event.

 

India are placed in Group A and will start their campaign against Australia on July 29 followed by a high-voltage clash against arch-rivals Pakistan on July 31. India’s last group stage match will be against Barbados on August 3.

 

On the other hand, Group B includes Sri Lanka, England, New Zealand and South Africa.

 

Richa Ghosh and Simran Bahadur are missing from the T20I squad but will travel with the team as standbys. On the other hand, Taniya Bhatia and Harleen Deol have made a comeback in the shortest format. Deol batted well in the recently-concluded ODI series against Sri Lanka.
