Recently retired from Test cricket, India's T20 World Cup 2024 and Champions Trophy 2025-winning captain Rohit Sharma has hailed the Indian Armed Forces for foiling Pakistan's attempts to target cities on the western front. Rohit also asked the Indian citizens to refrain from sharing any unconfirmed reports/fake news which may lead to panic in the country.

"With every passing moment, with every decision taken I feel extremely proud of our Indian Army, Indian Airforce & Indian Navy. Our warriors are standing tall for our nation’s pride. It’s important for every Indian to be responsible and refrain from spreading or believing any fake news. Stay safe, everyone!" Rohit wrote on his X account.

Meanwhile, the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 has been suspended indefinitely following the escalations on the India-Pakistan border on May 8 evening.
