Rajasthan Royal CEO Jake Lush McCrum has parted ways with the franchise days after the departure of head coach Rahul Dravid ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026. McCrum, who was part of the inagural IPL champions since 2017, has served various roles with the franchise in his eight-year tenure.
Cricbuzz reported that McCrum had himself called his colleagues from multiple IPL franchises and had told them about his exit from RR. McCrum had initially served as the General Manager before being promoted to Chief Operating Officer (CEO) in 2019. He eventually went on to take up the role of CEO in 2021. Notably, McCrum had taken up the same role for Caribbean Premier League (CPL) side Barbados Royals in 2018.
Rajasthan Royals (RR) performance in IPL 2025
The Rajasthan-based franchise had a forgettable outing in the last edition of the cash-rich league. They faced the massive blow as their regular skipper, Sanju Samson, injured his finger, which forced him out of several games in the early stages of the tournament, and later, he missed a few games due to side strain, which forced the franchise to appoint Riyan Parag as stand-in captain.
The IPL 2023 finalists ended their campaign ninth in the points table tally of the ten-team tournament with just four wins in 14 outings. Ahead of the upcoming edition of the IPL, there is uncertainty over Sanju Samson‘s future with the franchise. There are rumours that a Kerala-based cricketer will most likely join the five-time champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the upcoming edition of the cash-rich league. However, in the podcast with Ravichandran Ashwin, Samson clarified that he wants to stay with the franchise that first picked him.
