Bollywood actor Vikrant Massey reacts as the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) has approved a proposal to name one of the stands at Wankhede Stadium after India captain Rohit Sharma. The decision was made during MCA's Annual General Meeting (AGM). MCA also confirmed that two other stands will be named in honour of former BCCI president Sharad Pawar and batting great Ajit Wadekar.

"Ab Wankhede mein apna ek stand hoga!!! Kya bolti Paltan, My Hero Rohit Sharma" wrote Vikrant Massey.
The proposal to name the stands after the three cricketing icons was put forward by politician and MCA apex council member Milind Narvekar.
"Another key resolution passed during the AGM was the approval of the naming of stands at Wankhede Stadium - a proposal initially put forward by Mr Milind Narvekar and seconded by Mr Jitendra Awhad. The house unanimously approved the stand namings," the cricket body said in a statement.

The stands will be renamed as follows:
- Grand Stand Level 3: Shri Sharad Pawar Stand
- Grand Stand Level 4: Ajit Wadekar Stand
- Divecha Pavilion Level 3: Rohit Sharma Stand
Rohit is currently featuring for the Mumbai Indians (MI) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The former MI captain is currently going through a lean patch in his career. He managed to score 82 runs in six outings. Rohit last featured in MI's clash against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) where he scored 26 in 16 balls, including three sixes.
MI are currently seventh in the points table. After getting a bad start, the five-time champions are currently working hard to make a comeback, MI played seven matches, where they managed to register three wins. MI will now face arch-rivals Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on April 20 at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
