Pakistan opener Sahibzada Farhan broke India's Virat Kohli's record for most runs in a single edition of ICC Men's T20 World Cup. While Pakistan crashed out of the tournament at Super 8 stage, Farhan was the only silver lining. But, despite a stellar run in the tournament, Farhan did not find himself in the shortlist for The Hundred 2026 auction which features 247 names, including 16 Pakistan players.
Earlier, when there were reports of Pakistan players facing snub from franchises that are owned by Indian Premier League (IPL) team owners, Farhan had expressed his desire to play in the English franchise tournament.
"Everyone wants to play the best leagues. The Hundred is one of the best leagues. Let's hope for the best," he had said in a press conference during the tournament.
Amid concerns raised by former English all-rounder Moeen Ali, skipper Harry Brook and others, England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) released a statement saying that players will be picked on the basis of "performance, availability, and the needs of each team".

Pakistan players in The Hundred auction
While an in-form Farhan didn’t make the cut, here is a list of 16 players who will go under the hammer at The Men’s Hundred auction --
Haris Rauf, Shaheen Afridi, Shadab Khan, Usman Tariq, Saim Ayub, Abrar Ahmed, Muhammad Nawaz, Naseem Shah, Muhammad Amir, Zaman Khan, Usama Mir, Imad Wasim, Akif Javed, Salman Mirza.
For The Women’s Hundred, only two Pakistan players find themselves shortlisted among 178 players — Sadia Iqbal and Fatima Sana.
The players' fate will be decided on March 11 and March 12 at the auction.
Pacer Haris Rauf who did not make it to Pakistan's T20 World Cup squad, is among 10 marquee players. His name will be the first in the auction.
What’s next for Farhan?
Farhan is likely to be seen in action on Bangladesh soil if the tour goes ahead. Pakistan are scheduled to tour Bangladesh for a three-ODI series from March 11 to March 15. The 29-year-old is yet to make his ODI debut. However, he has been backed by many to be a regular in ODIs, especially ahead of ODI World Cup 2027.
Then, he will feature in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2026 for Sialkot Stallionz. The schedule is yet to be announced.
