Priyansh Arya is still pained by the fact that PBKS lost IPL 2025 final

Priyansh Arya said that the regret will stay until PBKS finally win a title

Despite an incredible debut season with Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, batting sensation Priyansh Arya is still not over team's heartbreaking defeat to Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the final. The season marked a significant rebirth for the franchise, which, led by Shreyas Iyer, made it to the final for the first time in over a decade. Although they fell short at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, it was a season to remember, as it was only their second-ever appearance in an IPL final. Among the many positives for the team, Priyansh Arya's emergence was a major highlight.

That regret will stay until PBKS finally win a title: Priyansh Arya

In his debut season, the 23-year-old left-handed batsman played 17 matches and scored 475 runs at an impressive strike rate of nearly 180. His statistics, however, tell only part of the story; it was the sheer impact of his aggressive batting style that captivated everyone. Arya showed no fear, playing his shots freely against any bowler. His standout performance came against Chennai Super Kings in Mohali, where he announced his arrival in style. After starting his IPL career with a 47-run knock, he smashed a blistering 39-ball century in just his fourth innings, finishing with an incredible 103 off 42 balls.

However, it wasn't PBKS' night as they ended up losing the match by mere six runs. Priyansh, who scored a 19-ball 24 in the summit clash, during a recent interview he admitted that he still regrets losing in the final.

"Bura to abhi bhi lagta hai... final tha! (I still feel bad, it was the IPL final!). Reaching the final after so many years (for PBKS) was special. For me, it was my first final and Punjab's first in 11 years. I still feel I could have contributed more, but things didn't go our way. That regret will stay until we finally win a title," Priyansh told News18.

The 24-year-old also made a bold claim and said that he never felt challenged by any of the bowler in the IPL.

"I never felt challenged by any bowler in the IPL. I believed I could handle them all. The same players feature in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, including India's internationals, so the level didn't feel very different," he added.
