Cricket icon and former South African captain, AB de Villiers, lauded the appointment of Daniel Vettori as the head coach for SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH). Addressing his massive Youtube audience, AB De Villiers earmarked Vettori's remarkable personality and rich experience as key ingredients to potentially rejuvenate SRH, a team facing challenges despite its stellar lineup.

Shedding light on their shared journey, De Villiers reminisced, "Daniel Vettori. I played with him, I played against him, and I played under him - that's quite interesting. Dan transitioning to SunRisers Hyderabad's coaching realm isn't surprising. He held the helm at RCB a few years back when I played under his leadership. What an incredible human being, truly a fantastic guy."

The shift in SRH's coaching mantle came after they parted ways with cricket legend Brian Lara, following a not-so-memorable 2023 IPL season. Despite showcasing a formidable team, SRH's performance didn't reflect their potential, finishing at the bottom of the table.

Continuing his praise for Vettori, De Villiers emphasized the Kiwi's commendable trait of prioritizing players. "He's always got the players' best interests at heart, and that's the kind of coach you yearn for. I'm genuinely hopeful for a robust season from the SunRisers, given their budding talent. I genuinely believe Dan is the perfect catalyst to steer them in the right direction," expressed the South African maestro.

Daniel Vettori isn't just a name but a legacy in the cricket world. Making his Test debut at a mere age of 18, he etched his name in history as New Zealand's youngest male representative. The left-arm spinner's monumental achievements include joining the elite club of all-rounders with 300 Test wickets and 3000 runs. Not to forget his batting finesse, contributing over 4,500 Test runs, inclusive of six riveting centuries.

SunRisers Hyderabad, once a force to reckon with, has been grappling with form since the 2021 season. Landing at the bottom twice in the last three IPL seasons has raised questions. With Vettori's entry, fans and cricket enthusiasts alike are eagerly watching if SRH can reclaim their lost glory.
