Harshit Rana broke his silence on being trolled online

Harshit racked up three wickets against South Africa in 1st ODI

India pacer Harshit Rana has been on the receiving end of a immense criticism on social media. Ever since the 23-year-old has become a regular in the Men in Blue's white-ball set-up, many have began questioning his place in the team and he has been subjected to a lot of online trolling. However, Harshit isn't even a bit concerned with what the trolls have to say.

Harshit further remarked that if he listens to all the things that are said about him online, then he will only be pressurised even more and will not be able to play properly. He rather is focused on what he has to do on the field and tries to not let the outside noise get to him.

“Look, sir, if I listen to all these things and get into the ground by putting pressure on my mind, then I don’t think I will be able to play cricket. So, I try to avoid as much as possible," Harshit said in the pre-match press-conference.

“I just pay attention to what I have to do on the ground. I don’t care about what is happening outside or what someone is saying about me. What I have to do on the ground, I just focus on my hard work and what I am going to do on the ground," he added.

Harshit's stunning spell in 1st ODI

Meanwhile, Harshit gave a brilliant performance with the ball in the first ODI against South Africa. After India had posted a humongous total of 349/8 non the board, the speedster bowled an incredible opening spell and took the wickets of both Ryan Rickelton and Quinton de Kock for ducks. He then went on to clinch the massive scalp of Dewald Brevis for 37 runs and finished off his quota of 10 overs with figures of 3/65.

India take important lead in the series

His spell proved to be crucial as India went on to win the match by a narrow 17-run margin. They bundled out the visitors for 332 runs and took a valuable 1-0 lead in the series. They will have a chance to seal the series by winning the second game of the assignment that will be held in Raipur on December 3.
