India set to face Australia in five Tests.

Ex-AUS player speaks about Yashasvi Jaiswal ahead of series.

Former Australian cricketer Brad Haddin believes that in the forthcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia, Indian batters will not be able to hold up against Aussie fast bowlers. Notably, a five-match series between Australia and India is scheduled to start in Perth on November 22. India's young opening batter Yashasvi Jaiswal who has been in outstanding form since their debut, will be one of the team's key players in the series. In 14 Test matches thus far, Jaiswal has amassed 1407 runs at an average of 56.28, smashing three hundred and eight fifties.

Haddin on Jaiswal

Haddin praised Jaiswal's skill but stated that his inexperience in batting in Australia would not help him since he would not be able to control the bounce.

"I don't think that the Indian batters are going to stand up to our quicks. I know Jaiswal is a really good player, but he hasn't come out and seen Australia before, so I'm not sure whether he is going to handle the bounce. Opening in Perth is hard work," Haddin said on LiSTNR Sport podcast.

Finch emphasises on importance of Pant and Carey

Former Australia captain Aaron Finch also talked about how Alex Carey and Rishabh Pant, both teams' wicketkeeper batters, will be crucial to their respective teams.

"I think the key could be Alex Carey and Rishabh Pant, the two wicketkeepers are going to be so important. At one time or the other in the series, the top order will get knocked over. Both fast-bowling attacks are so good that they will get on a roll and knock over the top order. So for me it's that really crucial role of Alex at No. 7 and Rishabh at 6 likely. Carey is aggressive, Rishabh is aggressive. The game is going to go one or two ways really quick. And I think that will be so important," said Finch.

Having amassed 624 runs from 12 innings with one century and two 80+ scores (89* and 97), Rishabh Pant loves to bat in Australia, where he has an impressive 62.40 average. On Day 5 of the renowned Gabba Test in 2021, he played an incredible performance of 89*, which helped India reach the 328-run target and win the series by a score of 2-1. Alex Carey, on the other side, has amassed 170 runs at an average of 24.28 from five games. In order to help their team defeat the opposition in the forthcoming series, both players will try to play a significant role.
