The DC franchise's search for a T20 league championship came to an end on Sunday, February 9, as Dubai Capitals defeated Desert Vipers to win the ILT20 championship. Sikandar Raza maintained composure to lead Dubai home in a 190-run chase as Dubai overcame Desert Vipers in a nail-biting final at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai. The conclusion continued to swing in all directions.
In the powerplay, the Capitals lost Sam Billings, David Warner, and Gulbadin Naib because they were behind. But Rovman Powell and opener Shai Hope kept the team going. They kept the Capitals in the game by stabilizing the ship, but the game took a turn when Hope was dismissed for forty-three.
Powell continued from one end and discovered connections with Sikandar Raza and Dasun Shanaka (21). Powell's solid 30-ball half-century kept the Capitals in the chase. The game changed course again when Powell was dismissed for 63 in the 18th over, but the Capitals needed 65 runs from the last five overs to stay on pace for the chase.
