North Delhi Strikers captain Harshit Rana has been punished by the Delhi Premier League (DPL) for breaching the Code of Conduct in his side's clash against the West Delhi Lions on Monday at the Arun Jaitley stadium. Rana, who is known to being aggressive on the pitch, was seen giving a send-off to Ayush Doseja after dismissing the batter.
The pacer was seen signalling Doseja to head back to the pavilion after dismissing him and even pointed fingers at the batter. This act wasn't taken lightly by the DPL, who fined Rana 10 per cent of his match fees for the offence. No official hearing was held as the 23-year-old admitted to his mistake.
“Harshit Rana admitted to the Level 1 Offence under Article 2.5 (Using language, actions or gestures which disparage or which could provoke an aggressive reaction from another player in the Match) and accepted the Match Referee's sanction,” DPL's official statement read.
2 more players received fines
However, Rana wasn't the only player who was punished by DPL in the match between North Delhi Strikers and West Delhi Lions. Notably, two more players were also docked a percentage of their match fees for offences showing how the game was quite a tense affair.
North Delhi Strikers' Yajas Sharma and West Delhi Lions' Krish Yadav were both fined 20 per cent each of their match fees for using audible obscenity during the match. Both the players also admitted to their offences which led to no official hearing being held in this case either.
