After a comfortable 187-run victory over West Indies, Sri Lanka are now at the top of the table of the second edition of the World Test Championship (WTC). Despite winning just one Test, Sri Lanka have dethroned India from the top spot. The simple reason behind Sri Lanka climbing to the top is their 100 per cent (PCT) whereas India who have played four Tests (excluding Kanpur Test against New Zealand) have PCT of 54.17%.

The second edition of WTC began on August 4, 2021 with the inception of England vs India series. In that five-match Test series India won two matches, lost one and one ended in a draw. The remaining one Test will be played next year on July 1, 2022, at Edgbaston. As a result of that series with one match still left, India have 26 points in their tally and are now at the second spot on the table.

As of November 25, 2021, after Sri Lanka and India, Pakistan are at the third spot. They have played two Tests and have one win and one loss. They have 50% PCT with 12 points in their bank. West Indies are at number four with PCT of 33.33%. The Caribbean side lost two Tests and have won only one match. At the bottom is England with 29.17% PCT. The English side has only one win in their tally with two losses and one draw.

The second season of the WTC will end on March 31, 2023. A total of 27 series will be played this season with 69 Tests in this period. The venue for the final is yet to be announced. New Zealand are the reigning champions of the WTC as they beat India by eight wickets in Southampton earlier this year.
