Huge blow to Pakistan; star opener ruled out of 2nd ODI against New Zealand

After losing the first clash against New Zealand, Pakistan will face the Blackcaps for the second ODI at Seddon Park in Hamilton.

Pakistan opener Usman Khan who made his debut in the first ODI against New Zealand, has been ruled out of the second ODI due to a hamstring injury. The opening batter scored 39 off 33 in his first outing for Mohammad Rizwan's side. 

He sustained an injury while fielding during his debut clash in Napier, and a scan after the game confirmed a low-grade tear. As a result, he will be unavailable for the second clash of the three-match series. He was not part of in initial Pakistan ODI squad for the New Zealand series but was included after their five-match T20I series. 

Pakistan lost the first ODI by 73 runs against New Zealand. The Blackcaps scored 344/9  in their 50 overs, driven by a brilliant century from Mark Chapman. In response, Pakistan were bowled out for 271 in 44.1 overs, with Babar Azam top-scoring with 78 off 83 balls.
