The International Cricket Council (ICC) has officially unveiled the match schedule for the upcoming ICC U19 Women's T20 World Cup 2025, set to take place in Malaysia. The tournament will feature sixteen teams from around the globe competing in a total of 41 matches across 15 days, from January 18 to February 2, 2025.
ICC reveals schedule for U-19 Women's T20 World Cup 2025
In addition to the main event, sixteen warm-up matches will be played between January 13 and 16 to prepare the teams for the intense competition. This tournament promises to be a platform for the next generation of women's cricket stars to showcase their talent.
The sixteen teams will be divided into four groups, each containing four teams.
Group A - India (A1), West Indies (A2), Sri Lanka (A3) and Malaysia (A4), playing at Bayuemas Oval in Selangor.
Group B - England (B1), Pakistan (B2), Ireland (B3) and USA (B4) playing at Dato’ Dr. Harjit Singh Johor Cricket Academy (JCA Oval), Johor.
Group C - New Zealand (C1), South Africa (C2), Africa’s Qualifier (C3) and Samoa (C4) and playing at Borneo Cricket Ground, Sarawak.
Group D - Australia (D1), Bangladesh (D2), Asia’s Qualifier (D3) and Scotland (D4) and playing at UKM YSD Oval in Selangor.
Action-Packed Opening Day for U19 Women's T20 World Cup
The ICC U19 Women's T20 World Cup 2025 kicks off with an exciting triple-header on January 18. In Group B, England will face Ireland, and Pakistan will take on the USA, both matches to be played in Johor. Meanwhile, in Sarawak, Group C will see Samoa battle it out against Africa's Qualifier, while New Zealand takes on South Africa. The day's action concludes with Group D matches at UKM YSD Oval in Selangor, where Australia will face Scotland, and Bangladesh will play Asia's Qualifier.
The defending champions, India, will enter the tournament on January 19 with a match against West Indies at Bayuemas Oval. The hosts, Malaysia, will also kick off their campaign on the same day against Sri Lanka.
Super Six Stage and Semi-Finals
Following the group stages, the top teams will advance to the Super Six stage, commencing on January 25. This stage will feature two groups of six teams competing to secure a place in the semi-finals. If India manage to qualify for the semi-finals, they will participate in Semi-Final 2, scheduled for January 31 at 2:30 PM local time.
