Devendran wrapped up the tail with scalps of Aryan Sharma and Thomas Paddington. The Australian side was bowled out for 243.

Responsible knocks needed on Day 2

On Day 2, Indian openers Mhatre and Vaibhav Suryavanshi will have their work cut out. The visitors have a chance to take huge lead after causing a collapse late into Day 1. It will be interesting to see what approach Suryavanshi takes in red-ball cricket.
