The fixture has been shifted from Melbourne to Hobart

The third ODI between India women and Australia women has been relocated to a different venue. The fixture which is slated to be played on March 1, 2026, at Melbourne's Junction Oval, has been relocated to Hobart's Bellerive Oval. This change was necessary because the new floodlights at Junction Oval will not be ready in time for the day-night match. In addition, ongoing construction at the venue would have significantly limited spectator access.

Cricket Australia had initially expected the floodlights to be completed well ahead of the match, but unexpected delays in planning and construction made that impossible. Since there is only one day between the second and third ODIs, converting the match to a day game was not an option. The Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) was also unavailable due to its own renovations, which further limited the alternative venues.

As a result, Bellerive Oval in Hobart will now host both the second and third ODIs of the series, ensuring the schedule remains on track. Peter Roach, Cricket Australia’s Head of Cricket Operations and Scheduling, expressed disappointment about the change, acknowledging the anticipation of hosting the first international match under lights at Junction Oval. The India women's team tour of Australia, from February 15 to March 9, 2026, will feature three T20Is, three ODIs, and a four-day Test match.

“We are disappointed we have had to move this match from Junction Oval and that there will be no women’s international match in Melbourne this season. We anticipated the Junction Oval lights would be installed several weeks before this fixture and were looking forward to celebrating the first international match under lights at the ground," CA’s head of cricket operations and scheduling Peter Roach said, as quoted by ESPNcricinfo.

The schedule:
