Former Pakistan cricketer Danish Kaneria slammed the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) after the Asian Cricket Council announced the Asia Cup 2025 schedule. Before the announcement of the schedule, There were growing demands from fans to not have any sporting relations with Pakistan in the aftermath of Operation Sindoor.

Earlier, World Champions of Legends also had to cancel the India Champions vs Pakistan Champions clash after facing a huge backlash from fans. Kaneria, who is also known as Pakistan critic, questioned the BCCI for featuring against Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2025.

"Indian players boycotted WCL and called it national duty. But now Asia Cup vs Pakistan is just fine? If cricket with Pakistan is okay, then WCL should’ve been too. Stop using patriotism when it suits you. Let sport be sport — not propaganda" Kaneria wrote.

ACC announced the Asia Cup 2025 schedule on July 26, where India are Pakistan are in the part of same group and both will potentially face each other three times in the tournament. Two teams from each group will qualify for the Super Four stage. In the Super Fours, each team will face the other three once. Two teams from the Super Four stage will play the final, which is set to be played on September 28. The whole tournament will take place in the UAE, with the BCCI are the original hosts of the tournament since they are the defending champions. The mega event will take place in T20I format for the preparation of the T20 World Cup which will take place next year in India and Sri Lanka. 

India and Pakistan are all set to play on September 14, according to the proposed schedule for the Asia Cup this year.
