Jadeja is 4th all-rounder to score 4,000 runs and take 350 wickets in Tests.

India’s veteran all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja scripted history on Day 3 of the first Test against Sri Lanka at Galle International Stadium. Jadeja became the third left-arm spinner in Test cricket history to complete 350 Test wickets. He joined the likes of Sri Lanka's Rangana Herath (433) and New Zealand's Daniel Vettori (362) on the list. He also became the sixth left-arm bowler to take 350 Test wickets. The list features Australia’s Mitchell Starc (435), Pakistan’s Wasim Akram (414) and Sri Lanka’s Chaminda Vaas (355) as well.

Jadeja achieved the feat with Keshara Nuwantha's wicket in the third session of Day 3. Earlier in the day’s play, he had dismissed Sri Lanka captain Dhananjaya de Silva too.

Earlier, the 37-year-old had scored 13 runs from 25 balls in the first innings. He was dismissed lbw by Nuwantha on Day 2.

Jadeja to surpass Vaas, Gambhir

Going forward in the Test series, Jadeja can take the fifth place among left-arm bowlers with most wickets in Tests.
In the second innings, he needs to score 47 runs to surpass current head coach Gautam Gambhir and take the 18th place in India's leading run-getters in Tests.
