When India A and Pakistan A faced off in the Men's T20 Emerging Asia Cup match on October 19 (Saturday), at Al Amerat, Abhishek Sharma and Sufiyan Muqeem got into a heated argument. With five fours and two sixes to help him score 35 runs off of 22 balls, Abhishek was at the top of his game. However, following the power play, the left-handed batter was dismissed by Muqeem, despite having a bright start.

Abhishek was only able to find a leading edge in his attempt to play a huge shot over the off-side. As Pakistan claimed their first wicket with India's score at 68 for one in 6.1 overs, Qasim Akram made a wonderful diving catch. Since Abhishek and Prabhsimran Singh were having an easy time with their shots, Mohammad Haris and company were in dire need of the wicket.

Muqeem signalled silence after dismissing Abhishek and gave him a fiery send-off. Unimpressed, Abhishek lunged in the direction of the Pakistan A bowler. Ultimately, it took the intervention of on-field umpires Rahul Asher and Chamara de Zoysa to bring order back to the proceedings. However, India A eventually won this match by 7 runs and avenged the final loss of the previous edition.

Particularly in the last nine months or so, Abhishek has risen up the ranks. Abhishek took some time to get noticed by the national selection after competing in the 2018 U19 World Cup in New Zealand. After starting the batting for the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League alongside Travis Head, he was absolutely amazing.

Earlier this year, Abhishek made his debut during the Zimbabwe tour and also smashed a century. The 24-year-old, who has combined to take 84 wickets in first-class, List A, and T20 cricket, is also more than capable with the ball in hand.
