Shaheen ties the knot with Shahid Afridi's daughter, Babar-led Pakistani cricketers in attendance to grace 'Nikah' ceremony

Pakistan's pace spearhead Shaheen Afridi has tied the knot with legendary Shahid Afridi's daughter Ansha in Karachi on Friday (February 3). Umpteen Pakistani cricketers including current captain Babar Azam were in attendance in the Shaheen's Nikah ceremony to grace the occasion.

Pakistan's pace spearhead Shaheen Afridi has tied the knot with legendary Shahid Afridi's daughter Ansha in Karachi on Friday (February 3). Umpteen Pakistani cricketers including current captain Babar Azam were in attendance in the Shaheen's Nikah ceremony to grace the occasion.

 

Maulana Abdul Sattar performed the Nikah at the Zakaria Mosque, while the bride’s rukhsati will take place later.

 

Asim Bajwa, the former director-general of the Inter-Services Public Relations, was also present at the occasion along with Wasim Khan, the General Manager of the International Cricket Council. Ansha, Shaheen's bride is a medical student and Shaheen had earlier admitted in an interview that he wanted to marry her. His parents had approached Ansha's family with the proposal and Shahid agreed to the marriage.

 

 

In one of the videos which are doing rounds of internet, Babar can be seen hugging the bride Shaheen on pacer's big day while the other Pakistani cricketer congratulated the couple.

Cricketers including skipper Babar Azam, Shadab Khan, Naseem Shah, Muhammad Hafeez, and many more prominent faces graced the luxurious ceremony. Revered Pakistani actor Adnan Siddiqui was also in attendance.

Recently, the cricketer's brother took to social media and shared that he is in town for a "special occasion," keeping most of the details about the event under wraps. Taking to Twitter, Riaz Afridi penned down a heartfelt message for his younger sibling. He wrote, "I always feel great with Lala and we are here on a special occasion. My younger brother is also with me who I consider my pride! All my best wishes to my younger brother Shaheen."

 

Meanwhile, Shaheen is currently nursing an injury he suffered during the 2022 T20 World Cup final against England. Shaheen hurt his knee while attempting to take a catch. The star pacer was not able to complete his quota in the summit clash, which ultimately proved to be the turning point in the match.
