The distance between bat and ball was visible to the naked eye.

South African batter Jordan Hermann was in utter disbelief as the umpire gave him out caught behind while the ball was far away from the bat before landing in the wicketkeeper's gloves. The incident is from the ongoing CSA Provincial One-Day Challenge Division One.

On February 22, Warriors' Hermann was batting cautiously in Gqeberha after the wicket of opening partner Diego Rosier. On the third ball of the 20th over, off-spinner Imran Manack drew Herman forward. Hermann was beaten by the amount of spin but Manack, wicketkeeper and fielders appealed. The umpire raised his finger in an instant as the batter squatted on the crease in disbelief.

The batter reluctantly left the field and looked at the umpire a few times as DRS wasn't availabe. He departed after scoring 37 runs from 54 deliveries including four fours. The video of the dismissal is making rounds on social media. The on-field umpires were Abongile Sodumo and Arno Jacobs.

Warriors bowled out for 198

Manack got the wicket of Jean du Plessis as well. The Senuran Muthuswamy-led team was bowled out for 198 in 43.4 overs. After Sinethemba Qeshile and Patrick Kruger's 39-run knocks, Warriors suffered a collapse. Ayabulela Gqamane helped mop up the tail with three wickets. Lehan Botha and Akhona Mnyaka picked up two wickets each. Shaun von Berge got the last wicket of the innings.

Lower-order rescues Boland

In the run chase, Boland struggled as well. Blayde Capell started well but was run out in the fifth over for a 22-ball 23. Grant Roelofsen struggled to score and departed for just six runs from 25 balls. Alfred Mothoa followed up Roelefsen's wicket with Botha. Gavin Kaplan became Beyers Swanepoel' only victim. He was dismissed for a 37-ball 26. Captain Clyder Fortuin could not do much either and was stumped off Muthusamy's bowling. Fortuin scored 15 runs from 11 balls. Boland lost half their side for 88 in 19 overs.

It turned from bad to worse as Mothoa knocked over Michael Copeland and Muthusamy got rid of Gqamane. They lost seven wickets for 128. Boland needed 71 runs from 19 overs. Von Berg and Manack ensured Boland get over the line with three wickets in hand and 11 balls to spare. Von Berg scored 49 runs from 74 balls. On the other end, Manack contributed with a 57-ball 37.
