Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan were among India's top performers in the recently-concluded T20I series against New Zealand. Their performance saw them make massive gains on the latest ICC T20I batter rankings. While Abhishek Sharma regained his place at the top with 917 rating points, Suryakumar climbed a place and reached the sixth spot with 728 rating points. Kishan was the top gainer and climbed 32 places to reach the same position on the rankings with 584 rating points.

Suryakumar picked up his form ahead of the T20 World Cup and scored a total of 242 runs in the five-match series against New Zealand. He registered three half-centuries and was even adjudged as the Player of the Series. On the other hand, Kishan made a statement with his long return to international cricket and scored 215 runs in four matches, including a century and half-century each. He was nothing short of a nightmare for the Kiwi bowling attack.
Meanwhile, Shivam Dube rose 17 places and ended up at the 41st position with 548 rating points. The injured Tilak Varma lost a place and slipped down to the fourth position. He had missed the T20I series against New Zealand due to a groin injury and it remains to be seen if he will be able to get back to action in the T20 World Cup. Additionally, Shubman Gill also fell down nine places and went down to the 43rd spot.

Elsewhere, Varun Chakravarthy retained his spot as the top T20I bowler with 776 rating points while Arshdeep Singh climbed two places to reach the 14th position after picking up 11 wickets in the assignment against New Zealand. Axar Patel rose three places and ended up at the 17th position and Kuldeep Yadav climbed two places to share the 23rd spot with New Zealand skipper Mitchell Santner, who climbed eight places.
India and New Zealand gear up for T20 WC
With all their assignments done, both India and New Zealand will now be focusing on the T20 World Cup that is right around the corner. India will begin their campaign with the clash against USA at the Wankhede stadium on February 7 while New Zealand's opening fixture of the tournament will be against Afghanistan on February 8 at the MA Chidambaram stadium in Chennai.
