Former India captain MS Dhoni's biopic 'MS Dhoni The Untold Story' starring late Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput will be re-released again in Indian theatres from July 5-11. This will be for the occasion of Dhoni's 43rd birthday which will be on July 7.  Screening of the film will be held at approximately 50 cinemas nationwide, PVR Inox said in a press release. 

 

The film was first released in 2016 and was directed by Neeraj Pandey. The movie shows MS Dhoni's journey from the beginning to one of the most successful captains in the history of Indian cricket. MS Dhoni is arguably one of the best captains India produced. Men in Blue won all the ICC trophies (of that time) under his captaincy. 

 

The booking for MS Dhoni's biopic special show has started in Hyderabad, Chennai, Vijayawada, Vizag. 

 

MS Dhoni who announced his retirement from all forms of international cricket on August 15 2020 was featured in the last edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) where he stepped down as the captain just before the opener clash of the tournament announcing Ruturaj Gaikwad as his successor.

MS Dhoni's IPL Captaincy record

Apart from Indian colours, India wicketkeeper batter captained IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings (CSK) where he became the second most successful captain of the tournament, winning five (joint most) trophies in the history of the cash-rich league. 

 

Dhoni has played 264 IPL matches in his career where he scored 5243 runs with a highest score of 84 not-out. He featured in 14 matches in the last edition of the tournament where he scored 161 runs with a strike rate of 220.55 and an average of 53.67.
