Sunil Gavaskar revealed his favourite moment from the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy

The Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy finished at 2-2

The recently-concluded Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy between England and India gave the fans a lot of excitinjg moments. From England winning on the final day at Lord's to India snatching victory at The Oval, it was a series that will be remembered for years to come. The trophy would eventually be shared by the two teams at 2-2 with the Men in Blue recording a nail-biting 6-run victory at The Oval in the fifth Test.

It was Mohammed Siraj, who was the catalyst for the visitors in the final match as he recorded figures of 5/103 and got the final wicket of the game in Gus Atkinson. Siraj dismissed the tail-ender with a brilliant yorker that shattered his wickets and saw India script a famous victory.

Legendary India cricketer Sunil Gavaskar named that very delivery as his favourite moment of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy. He further remarked that that moment will be remembered by Indian fans for a long time.

“There will be several moments to cherish from the series: Gill’s batting — very rarely do you get to see batting as pure as this — and his captaincy, Stokes’ superhuman efforts with both bat and ball, the Indian fast bowlers’ marathon spells, Joe Root’s classy centuries, Rishabh Pant batting as only he can, as also Harry Brook and both also chirping as only they can," Gavaskar wrote in his column for Sportstar.

"But the enduring memory will always be Mohammed Siraj’s yorker that flattened the off-stump of Gus Atkinson to give India a win to level the series. After the disappointing last season in Test cricket, this would no doubt be the happiest moment in recent times for Indian cricket lovers. Thank you, Shubman, and your boys,” he added.

Siraj was the highest wicket-taker of the series

Meanwhile, Siraj was the star performer for the Men in Blue in the bowling department as he finished with 23 wickets under his name in 9 innings. The 31-year-old stepped up big time as the side's frontline pacer in Jasprit Bumrah's absence and took the responsiblility of providing his team with the big wickets.
