India's legendary wicketkeeper batter Dinesh Karthik opened up on Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma's replacement in T20Is after both cricketers announced their retirement from the shortest format of the game following the T20 World Cup 2024 win.  Both Rohit and Kohli announced their retirement after beating South Africa in the T20 World Cup 2024 final by seven runs at Kensington Oval in Barbados on June 29.

The cricket board is looking for their replacement in the T20Is. As we recently witnessed the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced a young T20I squad to play a five-match T20I series against Zimbabwe where Shubman Gill was the captain and Abhishek Sharma made his memorable debut in the series with a century in his second international outing.

Now former Wicketkeeper batter Karthik who played 2022 T20 World Cup with Rohit and Kohli picked four players as their replacement.

“First of all, they (Rohit and Kohli) are very hard to replace, but in the XI, I do think there are four choices at the moment. There’s Ruturaj Gaikwad, Abhishek Sharma, Tilak Varma, and Shubman Gill. I think Yashasvi Jaiswal will definitely be starting in the XI in T20I cricket,” Dinesh Karthik was quoted as saying by Cricbuzz.
