A major security lapse occurred again at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi as three fans barged into the field of play on day three to meet Virat Kohli during Delhi vs Railways Ranji Trophy match. This is the second time in the ongoing clash that a fan managed to breach security to enter the ground.
It is normal for fans to breach security in a desperate attempt to get up close to their cricketing heroes, but those scenes are usually reserved for international and Indian Premier League (IPL) games.
However, Kohli's Ranji comeback after more than a decade has turned the fan's attention towards a domestic game that would have been otherwise played in front of empty stands.
The clip of the incident went viral where the security can be seen running behind the fans who entered the ground to meet their favourite in Delhi. Here is the video.
Coming back to the match, Kohli who made his comeback in Ranji after 13 years disappointed fans as he got out on just six runs during day 2 of the game. The former India captain was unable to bat in the second inning as Delhi defeated Railways by an inning and 19 runs to end their Ranji Trophy campaign.
