BCCI are yet to take a call on India's take to travel in Pakistan.

India's World Cup-winning spinner Harbhajan Singh who is currently involved in Legends League Cricket reckoned that Rohit Sharma-led side will not travel to Pakistan for the upcoming Champions Trophy citing security concerns. Pakistan Cricket Board will host the marquee event which will be played between February and March next year. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) are yet to take a call on whether India travel to the neighbouring nation to feature in the tournament.

In the exclusive conversation with Sports Tak, Harbhajan Singh also said that if they provide full hassle-free security then the government will decide whether to send team India to Pakistan or not.

“What they say is what they think is right while what we say is our point of view. I feel the security concerns are always there and if the security of the players is not ensured there then I don't think that the team should go there. If They say that the teams will get full security and there is no hassle then it's on the government to think and make decisions because in the end, it's not just about cricketing matters and the issue goes beyond. As a cricketer, I can say if you wish to play cricket, play cricket but the security concern is always there and players should not go there until the security is guaranteed” said Harbhajan Singh in an exclusive conversation with Sports Tak.

Considering past events it is nearly impossible that the Indian Cricket Board (BCCI) will allow Team India to travel to Pakistan. Earlier, Pakistan were the host of the Asia Cup 2023 but BCCI denied sending the team and after that, the tournament was played in a hybrid model where India-centric matches were played in Sri Lanka.

Team India last travelled to Pakistan in 2008 for the Asia Cup and Pakistan last featured in India for the ODI World Cup 2023 where Australia clinched the title defeating hosts India in the final at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
