Former India captain Virat Kohli is one of the most followed cricketers around the world and fans call him king for his skills in the gentlemen's game. Kohli made his international debut on 2008 against Sri Lanka. Gautam Gambhir who is currently coaching the India team picked Kohli as the 'Shahenshah' of cricket.
While engaging with the Delhi Premier League T20’s social media page on the sidelines of the tournament, Gambhir participated in a ‘Bollywood x Cricket’ game. In this game, he was tasked with naming an Indian cricketer, either current or former, who best fits the title or character of a movie. Here is the clip.
In the 'Bollywood x Cricket' game, Gambhir chose Virat Kohli for the title of 'Shahenshah,' reflecting the iconic role of Amitabh Bachchan in the classic Bollywood film. Fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah was labeled as the "most important" figure. However, former India captain MS Dhoni and current skipper Rohit Sharma were not associated with any of the titles.
