Women's Asia Cup venue and schedule update, tournament likely before Asian Games in this country

In a series of big updates, it has been reported that the United Aram Emirates is likely to host the upcoming edition of the Women's Asia Cup, with the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) yet to make a formal announcement regarding the venue. According to a latest report by Cricinfo, the tournament is tentatively scheduled to take place from August 28 to September 13, with the final likely to be held on a Sunday.

The report claims that the ACC has already sent the proposed schedule to all eight participating nations, urging them to keep the tournament window free. The sixth edition of the Women's T20 Asia Cup is set to feature defending champions Sri Lanka, alongside India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Malaysia, Thailand and hosts UAE.

The ACC has not unveiled the tournament schedule, venue or fixtures, with the final approval still pending from its leadership under PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi. However, the report said that the committee has sent an official email to the participating nations on July 22, informing them that the host venue was still being finalised, while tentatively asking them to arrive on August 27 ahead of a planned final on September 13.

The report further claimed that all the participating nations are waiting for the official itinerary before finalising their travel plans and other logistical arrangements.

Notably, the BCCI briefly announced India's squad on August 2, before removing the post, as the ACC had not yet officially confirmed the tournament. The provisional squad had the likes of Shafali Verma, Jemimah Rodrigues, Bharti Fulmali and Richa Ghosh, with India opting to retain the core group for the competition.

Short gap between Women's Asia cup final and Asian Games 2026

The Women's cricket event at the 2026 Asian Games in Nagoya is set to take place from September 17 to 24, leaving the Asia Cup finalists with a tight schedule. If the tournament comes to an end on September 13 as expected, the two finalists will have only four days to travel from the UAE to Japan and prepare for he continental competition.
