Young Uttar Pradesh cricketer Prashant Veer has been in the form of his life in domestic cricket over the past week. He represented Uttar Pradesh in both the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT) and the BCCI Under-23 tournament, travelling back and forth between Mumbai and Kolkata almost every day.
How did Prashant Veer travel every day to feature in different formats?
One day he was playing for the Under-23 side in Mumbai, and the next day he was turning out for the senior team in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy in Kolkata. Despite the hectic schedule, the young spin all-rounder performed brilliantly in both competitions and even helped Uttar Pradesh reach the Under-23 tournament final, where they lost to Tamil Nadu.
Prashant played six matches in seven days, from November 25 to December 1, across two different formats. The Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy is a T20 event, while the Under-23 tournament uses the 50-over format. He began his week in Mumbai on November 25, scoring 61 runs off 22 balls and taking 4 for 75 against Mumbai. The very next day, on November 26, he was in Kolkata for a Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy match against Goa, where he picked up one wicket for 19 runs.

Prashant's SMAT performance
In the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, Prashant has taken five wickets in three games at an average of 12.80 and an economy of 7.11 and scored 40 runs. He also attended the trials of five-time champions Chennai Super Kings and could be seen as a possible replacement for their veteran Ravindra Jadeja, considering he is a left-handed batter and bowler who plays in the lower middle order.
