Former India cricketer Manoj Tiwary hilariously warned the Suryakumar Yadav-led side that they might struggle to secure IPL contracts if they fail to defeat the West Indies in their crucial Super 8s clash of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
India and the West Indies are set to face off in what is almost like a quarter-final in the Super 8 stage. The stakes are simple: the team that wins will move on to the semi-finals, while the losing side will be knocked out of the tournament. Both teams currently have two points from two matches. They each secured big wins against Zimbabwe but were beaten by South Africa in this stage.

"India have scored 256 in their last match, so from that position, they should go through. There is no pressure at all. The expectation would be to score over 200 and defeat the West Indies easily. If they can't defeat the West Indies, no one will get IPL contracts,” Tiwary said with a smile on his face.
