India’s star spinner Varun Chakravarthy put on an exceptional display against Namibia. From two overs, the spinner claimed three wickets while conceding just seven runs. After India registered their second win and climbed to the top of Group A points table, they are gearing up for the clash against arch-rivals Pakistan on February 15 in Colombo. While India have had an upper hand over Pakistan in T20Is, Chakravarthy feels that the Salman Agha-led might have an advantage as they have been playing in similar conditions in Sri Lanka.
Pakistan have an in-form spin lineup, featuring mystery spinner Usman Tariq, Abrar Ahmed, Mohammad Nawaz, Shadab Khan and Saim Ayub, Chakravarthy considers it a fun challenge as the group is well prepared
“Obviously, every game in the World Cup is very important. We are excited for it, and it will be a fun challenge. We are also strong against spin and have a good spin attack. I feel we have the edge over them. Although they are playing in similar conditions back to back and might have an advantage in that regard, I believe that as a group we have had the better of them and are well prepared,” Chakravarthy said on JioHotstar.
