In a distressing turn of events during the Vijay Hazare Trophy match between Mumbai and Uttarakhand in Jaipur, young opener Angkrish Raghuvanshi was rushed to the hospital following a severe on-field injury. The incident took place in the 30th over as Raghuvanshi, stationed at deep mid-wicket, attempted a spectacular diving catch off the bowling of Tanush Kotian. While his one-handed effort was valiant, he suffered a terrible fall that resulted in injuries to his neck and shoulder, along with a concussion as his head struck the ground.

Witnesses noted that although the 20-year-old initially tried to stay on his haunches for a few seconds, he quickly collapsed back onto the turf. This prompted an immediate response from the Mumbai team physio. Recognizing the severity of the situation and the fact that Raghuvanshi was unable to regain his footing, medical staff called for a stretcher to safely remove him from the field.

During the tense moments following the fall, there was a noticeable delay in arranging both a stretcher and an ambulance. While waiting for medical transport to arrive, Raghuvanshi appeared to be in significant distress, visibly struggling to move his neck while lying on the outfield.

Following a series of medical evaluations, Raghuvanshi has been officially discharged from the hospital, as per Sportstar. Medical professionals conducted a thorough examination and multiple scans to assess the impact of his fall, and fortunately, all the resulting reports returned normal.
While a team source confirmed that the young opener did indeed suffer a concussion during the incident, they reassured fans that he is currently doing fine and is on the mend. He will likely undergo the standard return-to-play protocols before being cleared to rejoin the Mumbai squad on the field.
“The doctors examined him, and all reports were normal. He suffered a concussion, but is now doing fine,” a team source told Sportstar.
