Alexander Zverev storms into maiden Wimbledon final, eyes back-to-back Grand Slam titles

Alexander Zverev defeats Arthur Fery to reach first Wimbledon final

Zverev produced another commanding display on Centre Court to defeat Great Britain's Arthur Fery in straight sets, 7-6 (6-0), 6-2, 6-4, securing a place in the Gentlemen's Singles final for the first time in his career.

The victory also extended the German's winning streak at Grand Slam tournaments to 13 consecutive matches this season, underlining the rich vein of form he has enjoyed throughout the 2026 season.

Reflecting on the milestone, Alexander Zverev admitted that Wimbledon had long been his most challenging major.

"It's amazing. This Grand Slam has always been the one that I have struggled with most and all of a sudden I am in the final of Wimbledon so I am incredibly happy, proud as well of the team and everyone who was involved. We have one more match to go on Sunday and that's what the focus is on."

The World No. 3 will now await the winner of the ongoing semi-final between Novak Djokovic and Jannik Sinner as he prepares for the biggest grass-court match of his career.

Victory in Sunday's final would mark another historic milestone for the 29-year-old. After ending his long wait for a maiden Grand Slam title by winning the French Open last month, Zverev now has the opportunity to claim back-to-back major championships.

A Wimbledon triumph would also make it the third biggest title of his career, adding to his 2020 Olympic gold medal and further cementing his place among the game's elite players.

Beyond his Grand Slam success, Alexander Zverev has enjoyed a glittering ATP career, collecting 25 tour-level singles titles along with the prestigious ATP Finals crowns in 2018 and 2021.
