The Premier League was ablaze with action this weekend as Manchester City's Erling Haaland bagged another hat-trick, catapulting his team to a 5-1 victory over Fulham. With this win, Man City continued their unbeaten run in the league, recording their fourth consecutive victory. Haaland, who is fast becoming one of the most formidable strikers in European football, contributed three goals to City's tally, bringing his season total to six.
Manchester City took an early lead courtesy of a goal from Julian Alvarez. Fulham, however, responded with Tim Ream leveling the scores. But it was Nathan Ake who reclaimed the advantage for the defending champions before half-time. Haaland took control in the second half, scoring his first goal around the hour mark and securing a penalty after a push by Fulham's Issa Diop on Alvarez. The Norwegian striker completed his hat-trick during stoppage time, further solidifying his place as one of the season's standout performers.
In another unexpected twist, former Manchester United forward Anthony Elanga scored the only goal of the match for Nottingham Forest, causing a major upset with a 1-0 win over Chelsea. This marks Chelsea's second league defeat of the season, putting them in a challenging position for the title race.
Over at Turf Moor, Tottenham extended their unbeaten start to the Premier League, thanks to a dazzling hat-trick by Son Heung-min. Despite falling behind to an early goal from Burnley's Lyle Foster, goals from Son and Cristian Romero flipped the match in Tottenham's favor. James Maddison added another, setting the stage for Son to finish his hat-trick, even though Josh Brownhill scored a late consolation for Burnley.
In a last-minute drama, Bryan Mbeumo’s stoppage-time equalizer helped Brentford secure a 2-2 draw at home against Bournemouth. Dominic Solanke and David Brooks had earlier put Bournemouth in a favorable position before Mbeumo’s late heroics.
Finally, Sheffield United and Everton both managed to notch their first point of the season in a 2-2 draw at Bramall Lane. Cameron Archer made his league debut memorable by scoring for Sheffield United, canceling out an opener from Everton's Abdoulaye Doucoure. Despite falling behind due to a self-inflicted goal by their goalkeeper Jordan Pickford, Arnaut Danjuma brought Everton back level.
