England manager Thomas Tuchel has reportedly made several bold selection calls ahead of the Three Lions' FIFA World Cup 2026 Round of 32 clash against DR Congo. The biggest talking point is Bukayo Saka's expected omission from the starting XI, with Tuchel opting for a reshuffled lineup as England begin their knockout campaign.

Thomas Tuchel expected to make key changes to England XI
According to reports, Tuchel is set to hand Noni Madueke a starting berth ahead of Bukayo Saka, while Declan Rice is expected to return to the midfield after being rested during England's 2-0 victory over Panama.
Jordan Pickford is likely to retain his place in goal, with Nico O'Reilly expected to start at left-back. Ezri Konsa, Marc Guehi and Djed Spence are tipped to complete England's defensive line after Spence impressed following his introduction against Panama.
The midfield is also expected to undergo changes as Rice partners Elliot Anderson, while Jude Bellingham continues in the attacking midfield role. Marcus Rashford is likely to feature on the left wing, with Harry Kane leading the line once again.
England eye another knockout victory after strong group-stage campaign
England progressed to the knockout stages after finishing top of Group L with two wins and one draw. Their latest outing saw them overcome Panama 2-0, with Jude Bellingham opening the scoring before setting up Harry Kane to seal the victory.
Bellingham and Kane are expected to once again spearhead England's attack against DR Congo as Tuchel's side aim to continue their quest for World Cup glory.
However, injuries have forced the England boss into defensive alterations. Djed Spence is set to continue after replacing Jarell Quansah, who suffered an ankle injury against Panama, while Reece James remains unavailable after picking up a hamstring injury earlier in the tournament.
