Shearer says Sesko’s late winner vs Fulham could boost his confidence ahead of the Spurs clash.

The Premier League legend predicts a Man United victory, citing Spurs’ struggles away from home.

Premier League's all-time top scorer Alan Shearer believes Manchester United striker Benjamin Sesko could play a crucial role in the Premier League game against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday, February 7.

The Red Devils are on a three-game winning streak in the league, defeating Manchester City 2-0 at home, leaders Arsenal 3-2 away and Fulham 3-2 at home. Sesko scored a 94th-minute winner against the Cottagers after coming on with 16 minutes left.

Ahead of the game with Tottenham at Old Trafford this weekend, Shearer wrote for The Metro that Sesko needs to become a regular starter:

"Benjamin Sesko got a big goal last week but hasn’t really started at Man United, he’s been in and out so it’s very similar to Newcastle’s situation with their strikers. He has to show a lot more, but that goal will do his confidence the world of good and he will be hoping he can play a big part again this week."

Regarding the game itself, Shearer predicted a win for the Red Devils, considering Spurs' poor run on the road:

"With Spurs, their away form isn’t too bad. Having said that, Man United are at home and flying. For that reason, I’ll go for a Man United win."

Benjamin Sesko's record so far for Manchester United

Sesoko has scored six goals and one assist in 21 games across all competitions for the Red Devils this season.

Manchester United's hot form

Manchester United are going through a red-hot form, defeating big-two of Manchester City and Arsenal followed by a last-gasp win over Fulham at Old Trafford last weekend.

However, Michael Carrick's side are winless in six league fixtures with Tottenham, losing three, losing this fixture 3-0 at Old Trafford last season. In fact, Spurs are unbeaten in eight games across competitions against United, the second-longest unbeaten run against the Red Devils by any team (Chelsea-12). It includes a 1-0 win in the UEFA Europa League final last season.

United, though, have won all three games under Interim boss Michael Carrick and are on a seven-game unbeaten run in the league. They are fourth in the standings following 24 games, 12 behind runaway leaders Arsenal.
