Mohamed Salah returned from the bench to provide an assist in Liverpool’s 2–0 win over Brighton, earning high praise from Arne Slot.

Slot declined to disclose details of his private conversation with Salah but confirmed the Egyptian remains a key part of his plans.

Liverpool coach Arne Slot lavished praise on Mohamed Salah after he produced an assist on his return to the pitch. The Dutch tactician labeled him as a threat to the opponents, while adding that he expects to see the Egyptian back after AFCON.

Mohamed Salah's amazing comeback against Brighton

Talking to the media after the 2-0 win against Brighton, Slot said that Salah was back to his best and performed well after coming off the bench. He added that the winger was creating chances and also came close to score a goal, like he has done several times for the Reds, and said:

"I think he's a Liverpool player and the moment he's there I like to use him when we need him. Today he didn't start as he did a few times before not, but in the one-and-a-half season before he started I think every game. Today when he came in, like I just said, he had a performance like you would want him to give. I think he was close to another assist, I think he was shocked to see Virgil [van Dijk] next to him in that long sprint!"

"He was close to scoring when Fede [Chiesa] almost assisted him. He was a threat and that's very important because if you play with attackers, you're hoping they are a threat to the other team. Hugo was that as well and Florian [Wirtz] was that also."

Salah came off the bench in the win against Brighton and managed to produce an assist. His corner was headed in by Hugo Ekitike, as Reds continued their journey to get back into Top 4.

Liverpool manager will not disclose conversation with Mohamed Salah

Liverpool manager Arne Slot has refused to reveal what happened during his conversation with Mohamed Salah on Friday, December 12. The coach had said that the decision on the forward's future would be taken after the conversation, and the Egyptian player was added back to the matchday squad on Saturday. He said:

"What has been said between the two of us in that conversation stays between us. What you see is what you get to know, that he was in the squad and my first substitution. All the other things that have been said in that conversation, I never speak about when I speak to Virgil [van Dijk] or Mo [Salah] or any other player. I never tell you guys, what we talk about."

Mohamed Salah is not set to join the Egypt national team  for AFCON and will come back to Liverpool in January.
