Mikel Arteta has responded to Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior's accusation of disrespectful behaviour by Arsenal staff. The Blues boss had earlier accused Arsenal of showing a lack of respect during the pre-match warm-up ahead of the second leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final away game.

Arteta offered a straightforward apology for any unintentional intrusion, noting that such occurrences, particularly involving goalkeepers, are quite common in football and not worth further comment as he focuses on the title race.

Addressing the situation during a recent press conference on Friday, Arteta stated that everyone in the club respects everybody. He said:

"At any point, if one of the staff members went through that, we apologise and that's it.”

The Gunners boss further continued:

“It's very common in football, especially with the keepers because they have to kick long balls and all that. So nothing there to comment."

Ahead of the second leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final between the Gunners and the Blues at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday, an incident occurred during the pre-match warm-up when members of Arsenal's staff, including goalkeepers practicing long kicks, reportedly encroached into the opponent's designated half of the pitch.

This disrupted Chelsea’s preparations, prompting Rosenior to confront the opposition staff and later describe it as a lack of respect and breach of football etiquette, stating that it affected his team's warm-up. Meanwhile, Arsenal, who are top of the Premier League table, held their spot at Wembley with a 1-0 win on the night and a 4-2 victory on aggregate.
