Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham has ventured into cricket, acquiring a minority stake in The Hundred franchise Birmingham Phoenix. The 22-year-old, who grew up in the West Midlands and began his professional football career at Birmingham City, has purchased a 1% stake in the Edgbaston-based team for around £1 million, as per a report in ESPN.

The deal, set for official confirmation on Wednesday, marks Bellingham as one of the first individual high-profile investors in the competition. Birmingham Phoenix is co-owned by American investment group Knighthead Capital Management, which also holds a majority stake in Birmingham City and Warwickshire County Cricket Club.
Bellingham acquired small portions from both entities, reflecting his deep roots in the city and a lifelong passion for cricket. He reportedly played junior cricket for Hagley Cricket Club as a youngster and has previously spoken about his love for the sport.
