Lamine Yamal forced off with injury as second injury for Barcelona after Joao Cancelo

Lamine Yamal was substituted with an injury just moments after converting a penalty that gave FC Barcelona the lead against Celta Vigo on Wednesday night. The 18-year-old went to ground shortly after slotting home from the spot in the 40th minute, clutching his hamstring area, and was replaced by Roony Bardghji before halftime.

It marked the second injury blow for Hansi Flick's side in the match, following João Cancelo's earlier withdrawal. Initial indications from club sources point to a hamstring tear for Yamal, with scans scheduled for Thursday to determine the severity and expected absence. It is concerning news for Hansi Flick while they are in the middle of the La Liga title race. 

Meanwhile, despite the setback, the Catalan side secured a victory, with Yamal's goal proving decisive in the La Liga encounter. The incident raises fresh concerns over Barcelona's squad depth and Yamal's heavy workload this season. The young winger, already managing prior groin issues, has been a standout performer, but recurring fitness problems continue to test the team's ambitions on multiple fronts.
