Barcelona have suffered a big blow amid their great form in the ongoing footballing season, as Raphinha have picked up a serious hamstring injury while playing in Brazil's 2-1 loss against France in Foxborough on Thursday, March 26.
Big loss for Barcelona
As a result, the Brazilian forward will miss Barcelona's UEFA Champions League tie against Atletico Madrid which will take place early next month.
Barca confirmed the news by sharing a statement, which said that the forward will sit on the sidelines for at least five weeks, the Catalan club also said that the 29-year-old will return to Barcelona for proper treatment.
"Raphinha has a right hamstring injury, as confirmed by medical tests carried out by the Brazilian Football Federation (CBF) following the discomfort he experienced during the Brazil v France match in Boston on Thursday. The player is returning to Barcelona to begin the appropriate treatment. The estimated recovery time is five weeks," read Barcelona's statement.

The above mentioned games will be missed by Raphinha during his rehabilitation period. This is a big loss for the Catalan club as the Brazilian forward is the one who carries Barca's high-press philosophy and his absence could result in a big setback in UEFA Champions League and LaLiga title race.
In the ongoing season, Raphinha managed to amass 18 goals and six assists in 29 games for Barcelona across all competitions. He recently scored a brace in Barca's recent thumping 7-2 win over Newcastle United in the UEFA Champions League RO16 tie.
