There was a lot of mixed opinions around Ruben Amorim when he was the boss of Manchester United. His style of play was not widely accepted by the fans and experts. He had one of the worst winning rate as Manchester United boss which was 38.1%.

Hot opinion on Ruben Amorim

Not a lot of players from the current squad talked about Ruben Amorim after his departure from the club in January 2026. Many supporters believed his playing style was about full of pragmatism.

Interestingly, Manchester United's star player, Diogo Dalot has a different take on the former coach. He believes that he is one of the important person in the history of the club. He says that in a very short span of time he made some necessary changes within the squad, which never reflected on the pitch.

"Ruben is someone who is really important to this club’s history. It’s bold to say and people might not believe it. But as soon as he came, he changed a lot of things that people don’t see. He is a guy that has to be in a disciplined place. The standards have to be high. He tried to do that straight away and we had to adapt to his way of thinking very quickly," said to Rio Ferdinand.

“What we did on the pitch did not work in terms of results. But Ruben created a great group of players that we have now. If you see our squad, our new signings have elevated us. It is always sad when these things happen because ultimately you are judged by results. He tried really hard to implement discipline and standards as soon as he arrived. But in the Premier League you do not have much time to prove that you are good enough. But unfortunately we couldn’t win,” he added.

Since Ruben Amorim's sacking, Manchester United brought former midfielder Michael Carrick as the interim manager. The former United player quickly produced positive results on the pitch.
